How to get to Chester Racecourse – CH1 2LY: 
By Car:

The Racecourse is on the West side of the city, just outside the ancient Roman Walls, at Watergate (site of the Roman port on the then floodplain of the river Dee).

Do NOT follow the brown signs for the Racecourse from the other side of the City – they will take you on a  5 mile detour Northwards!  Rather find the main inner ring road, follow this round to the West side, and take the Queensferry Road (locally known as the Sealand Road), which takes you under the Roman walls, and the Racecourse is immediately on your left.

Show your Antiques Show ticket at the carpark entrance for free parking.
Train: Chester is on the West Coast Line (London Euston – Birmingham – Crewe – Chester – Hollyhead.) From London the fast service is just over 2 hours. (Occasionally change at Crewe.)   The main line station is across on the North East side of the City, but a free shuttle bus brings you into the centre, from whence it is a 10 minute walk.
